I trained at Central School of Speech and Drama and went on to be Assistant Director for productions at National Theatre and Soho Theatre. I developed a passion for immersive performance and went on to work with shunt on Tropicana, a piece under London Bridge tube station and set up my own company Fervent, in London.

I created a number of productions with Fervent and won the Sprint Award with Camden People’s TheatreI have always worked as both a maker and producer, at this time working for Circus Space and for Total Theatre alongside creating my own work.  I spent 3 years working for Total Theatre as their Projects Officer (running Total Theatre Awards).  I left London in 2005 to work as Theatre Development Co-ordinator for Activate in Dorset.

I have worked in strategic arts development, artist support and programming, I was on the board and a founding member of b-side Arts Festival and developed Inside Out (Producer & Site Manager). I produced and programmed the Sideshow Festival for 2nd Birthday which presented interactive art in 13 empty shops, a large old car showroom and 6 beach huts. I produced and directed the South West tour of Paradise, written by Nell Leyshon in 2009.

In April 2010 I set up a collaboration with technician and performer Jay Kerry and received funding from Arts Council Digital Futures fund to be resident at Pervasive Media Studio, Watershed, Bristol. Together we set up Mercurial Wrestler and created immersive durational experiences which were interactive and used technology to place people at the centre of the experience. With Mercurial Wrestler I created digital performance pieces : Magna Mysteria (Mayfest & Without Walls), Safe Haven (Seale Hayne), Listening Trees (collaboration with Kaleider), Dreaming Places (Creative Innovation Centre) and Heartfelt (Einstein’s Garden/Green Man Festival.  Independently I developed Wonderfolk (Creative People and Places at Woodhorn Mine with Daniel Marcus Clark and Michael White) and Forever Me (Lost Weekend & Kaleider).

I’m inspired by the juncture between art and technology as a maker, curator and producer. This has dictated my work artistically and whilst at Falmouth University as AIR Studio (Innovation Lab) Producer.  I have also worked in producing and programming for Dartington Arts as Producer for their Associate Artist Scheme and Programmer for Dartington Live.  I have worked with Kaleider and SWCTN as Talent Development Producer and repurposed this programme to be online during the COVID 19 pandemic. As Head of Programme at Trigger I strategically developed partnerships and fundraised for the development and touring of new work and managed a team to present large-scale place making art works.

My work has been funded by Arts Council, Unlimited and commissioned by Mayfest, Bristol City Council, Bristol Ferment, Without Walls, Creative Innovation Centre, Woodhorn Museum, Seale Hayne, Kaleider and Arts Council Digital Futures, Creative People and Places, Green Man Festival, Einsteins Garden & Wellcome Trust. I have been employed as a consultant on site-specific, digital performance and virtual/online curation and creation.

I have presented and run workshops at a number of conferences including Fascinate, IAudience, Shift Happens and Twilio Annual Conference.
